Just wanted to send you a huge THANK YOU for the wonderful bit you built for Rowdy. Finally got a chance to drive him in it and he LOVES LOVES LOVES it! It’s like driving a completely different horse….like a super charged little sports car! Rowdy's been asking for a more refined bit for a long time but there just weren't any quality advanced mini-sized bits around…until now! Mind if I rave about you to other VSE (Very Small Equine as we’re known in the Combined Driving circuit) drivers? Many thanks, Tamara Chmilar ************************************************************************************************************ Everyone has their own preference when it comes to gear. It seems that that can change from time to time with each person. Lately for me I prefer to use an egg butt snaffle when I ride young horses. I have several egg but snaffles that I consider to be good quality. Recently I purchased an egg butt snaffle from the Wilms. It is easily one of the nicest snaffles I've ever used. It feels good and the horses sure like it. Thanks Bill and Rhonda for making good quality using gear. John Tilley " Tilley's Custom Colts and Horsemanship" ************************************************************************************************************ I received the bits this week, thank you. It’s the best bit I have used on my horses. I started a colt in it yesterday. I’ve never had a colt take to a bit so quick. I would like to order another one. Thanks again! Sarah Southwell Dacotah Performance Horses ************************************************************************************************************ I received my bit on Friday and had the chance to use it all weekend. I just wanted to say thank you! I spent so much time looking for a cowhorse bit and could never find one that was quite right. Your bit is exactly what I wanted, my horse works awesome in it and I was so impressed by how quickly you had it made and shipped to me. Thank you for your great work! I will definitely be back for my next bit. Chelsey Siemens ************************************************************************************************************ My horse's name is "Ronin", he is a four year old gelding. He has a kind disposition and I had never had trouble getting him to take a bit. One day I decided he needed to get a little experience in a larger bit. Nothing too big, but just something with shanks to begin preparing him for the day when he would no longer be in the four and five year old class. When I went to bridle him with this other bit, he smelt it, then proceeded to become tight lipped and not open his mouth. I was surprised to say the least. After fighting with this with him for a while he took it. I felt this reaction was very odd. I thought that maybe he was just having a bad day, so just to check I removed that bridle. I brought my sweet iron snaffle just to see if it was just the day or what the problem was. He took it instantly and after a few more back to back comparisons with the exact same result I came to realization that he would not take anything but the sweet iron mouth piece. I am definitely a believer in Bill Wilm's bits and the sweet iron. Connor Wonko ************************************************************************************************************ Just wanted to drop you a note. I was at the Saskatoon Equine Expo and bought a loose-ring snaffle from you for my four year old filly. I've only had one chance to give it a really good try but I have to say it made an impression. I took her for a four hour trail ride with it and she loved it. She was picking up collection on her own and responding to it extremely well, also her habit of grinding bits between her back teeth almost completely disappeared. My only concern is that it might be a bit wide, I believe it is a five and a half and she probably could've done with a five and a quarter, I have a different chin strap to try before I will know for sure though. I wanted to say thanks so much, though! It's great to see her being so light and happy while on the bit, it's crazy how much difference it appeared to make! Erika ************************************************************************************************************ Hi! I just wanted to say I am so pleased with the bit I bought from you at the Equine show in Saskatoon. I used the low port flex bit for the first time yesterday and my horse loved it! He was relaxed and easy to get along with. And at the end of my ride I had to “take” the bit out of his mouth! Normally he tosses his head around and spits that bit out faster than you can say bananas then tries to leave quickly too. Not yesterday. He stood there with the bit in his mouth and the bridle was off! Thanks for sticking to “tradition and quality” and making true sweet metal bits. As soon as I can save up some more I will be switching all my bits over. Thank you again! Robin Lafond ************************************************************************************************************ Before I purchased my snaffle bit from Bill and Rhonda I was convinced that my 2 year old needed some serious dental work. However, after switching to a "medium ring" snaffle bit, the difference was remarkable! To describe it best, it was like my filly "melted" when I would ride her in this bit. I could really "feel" her she liking the taste and was much more relaxed. No more head tossing or resentment . She was a very different horse- no serious dental work necessary at all! Lisa Britz *********************************************************************************************************** My daughters and I love the craftsmanship of the bits that Bill Wilm creates. Young horses seem to take these solid sweet iron bits better than any others we own. We have a variety of different weights of Wilm snaffles and find young horses carry them better with less resistance than a light weight cast bit with just a few small inlays of sweet iron. When using any shank bit we like how balanced the Wilm bits are and find our broke horses prefer them to anything we used in the past. Bill has helped us choose different mouthpieces and took the time to create exactly what we need. Simply, you get what you pay for and my bridles only have Wilm bits hanging on them. Kerri-Anne Boxall ************************************************************************************************************ "I show all-around horses on the paint horse circuit and have been using the Bill Wilm bits for all of my horses. I love each bit and have had great success with them. The low port flex shank bit has been an excellent transition bit for my youngsters once it is time to start showing them in one hand. The snaffles are the foundation for all of my training and they have made a world of difference for my 2 and 3 year olds. Not only are they more accepting of the bit - no chewing or backing away from it, but they also give me a whole new kind of "give". The colts are driving up into the bridle and carrying the bit on their own. Their mouths stay nice and moist and they lick their lips continually." Stephanie McMillan ************************************************************************************************************ "I have always been very pleased with the snaffle bits that we custom order from Bill. His work is neat and professional. I have never had any trouble with the bits we have ordered. They all stand up to daily use very well. The horses all like them very well. We use them both for training at home as well as showing. We have tried a few different types of snaffles and tend to use the medium weight bits the most, but so nice to have the option of the light weight or extra heavy weight. All the snaffles we order have been made "legal" so showing in them is no problem, and we have never had any issues at bit checks. I would recommend Bills work to anyone." Dale Clearwater, Justabouta Ranch ************************************************************************************************************ My horses love these bits! As soon as you put one in their mouth, they work it for a couple of seconds, drop their head and instantly relax. It really is amazing to see. I especially appreciate the fact that Bill and Rhonda not only share their knowledge with you but will also allow you to try the bits to see which will best suit your horses needs. Not only is the workmanship superb but the service - Bill & Rhonda are top shelf! Jackie Krienke |
